The best way to stop is with a combination of support and treatment, which can significantly increase your chance of stopping (and this is free on the NHS). The support and various medications can be tailored to suit you.

The best option is with a trained stop smoking advisor either in-house if there is one at your GP practice, or through the local stop smoking service, who can then arrange for you to see one.
