National Kidney Foundation communities
offer a safe and supportive place where patients and caregivers can share experiences, ask questions, and get answers related to kidney health, kidney disease, transplantation and living organ donation. Participation is free and anonymous.

This is the local support group that is affiliated with the National Kidney Patients Association.  An excellent patient support resource for information and help.

There is a secret facebook page for young people (under 30) in the Norfolk area who are already having dialysis or have a renal transplant, or who might be needing a renal transplant or dialysis.

Young people can often find themselves alone having renal treatment with a lot of elderly people. This secret facebook page enables young people in this area to meet other young people who have to deal with similer issues. Being a secret group means that the group is “not seen” on facebook (except for members) and members can talk about things without outsiders listening in. There are no health care staff members. Being polite and respectful remains important.

If you would like to join this group please contact Mark (Patient Education Nurse)
at who will pass your details to a young person who has a renal transplant and is running the page.

Katie McGoldrick is our renal counsellor. She can provide support for people to explore and make sense of the issues they are dealing with.

If you think counselling might be helpful to you, you may contact Katie on
07810 525 345 or ask a member of staff to contact her on your behalf.

Helen Alton
is a dedicated Renal Social Worker. Helen can help you with advice on matters of employment and benefits and managing well generally  at home with kidney problems. If you have concerns about managing well you can ring her on 01603 288934
